Who We Are

A Democratic Africa Starts Here

Founded in 2020 and headquartered in Lusaka, the People Initiative Charter (PIC) is a registered non-governmental organisation committed to building democratic institutions and civic culture across Zambia and the wider African continent.

We believe democracy is not a destination — it is a daily practice. From professional election observation to grassroots civic education, PIC works at the intersection of evidence, advocacy, and community to ensure electoral processes are free, fair, and truly representative.
